Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching and how is it different from therapy or mentoring?
Coaching is a collaborative, future-focused process that helps you clarify your goals and take meaningful action. Unlike therapy, coaching does not directly address mental health issues or past trauma. Unlike mentoring, coaching doesn't offer direct advice—instead, it helps you find your own answers.
What types of coaching does Cedar Coaching offer?
We offer 1-to-1 coaching in a variety of approaches - check out our individual pages to learn more! Each approach is tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Who are your coaches?
Our lead coach is a ICF Professional Certified Coach with over 4000 hours of coaching experience across many fields of coaching. We also draw upon a network of experienced and certified Coaches where needed. Cedar Coaching is about blending evidence-based approaches with deep listening and practical tools for real growth.
Do you offer coaching packages?
Yes. We offer multiple package opportunities, look through our website to find out more or contact us. If what you see doesn't fit what you are looking for, we may be able to build something bespoke to your needs.
How do I know which coaching tier is right for me?
We’ll explore this during your free discovery call. Your tier depends on your goals, experience level, affordability and the depth of support you're looking for.
How do I book a session?
Once you have completed a quick contact us form we will together arrange a time to hold a discovery call. This no-pressure and no-obligation conversation will help to establish if coaching is right for you and how to book in for future sessions. Generally we encourage sessions to be booked directly with your coach.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes! We offer a free discovery call so you can ask questions, clarify your goals, and decide if coaching is right for you.
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions are currently delivered online. We can offer video calling, telephone call or even whatsapp and email, depending on what works best for you and allowing for flexibility and convenience. Generally, we prefer video calls, and find that it creates the best connection and quality to coaching, but we recognise everyone works and responds differently - which is fine!
How long is each session?
Standard sessions are 60 minutes, but session timings can be adjusted depending on needs.
Will coaching help me get a new job or promotion?
Absolutely, yes. You are much more likely to succeed with coaching, than without. Coaching gives you the clarity, confidence, and strategic tools to pursue your goals. While outcomes depend on many factors, many clients do secure new roles, promotions, or complete fulfilling career transitions.
How soon will I see results?
Many clients experience insights or breakthroughs in their first session, but coaching isn't a magic wand! The real power of coaching is securing accountability and building momentum to not just gain clarity and insight, but to follow it through to real success. For lasting change, we recommend committing to at least 3–6 sessions.
Is coaching confidential?
Absolutely. We adhere to strict confidentiality standards aligned with professional coaching ethics. What you share stays between us.
Do you offer coaching for teams or businesses?
Yes. We work with organisations to deliver 1-to-1 coaching for leaders, emerging talent, or teams. Contact us to explore tailored options.
